About DARING HER LOVE:

This BRADEN novella features Kat Martin, Brianna Heart’s best friend from HEARTS AT PLAY (The Bradens, #6) with appearances from the hot, wealthy, and wickedly naughty Bradens you know and love.

In DARING HER LOVE…

Kat Martin knows what she wants in a man—someone stable and adoring, definitely not the type of guy who sleeps around. After all, Kat rarely does the wrong thing—until she meets seductively enticing Eric James, and suddenly wrong has never felt so right.

When it comes to his career, race-car driver Eric James is intense, obsessive, and passionate, but when it comes to sex, there’s only one kind—daring, unbridled, and no-strings-attached.

One stormy night, a delayed flight and the dangerous allure of the unknown leads Kat to throw caution to the wind, and she indulges in a rendezvous that she vows to immediately forget—but the secret tryst stirs something possessive in Eric, and forgetting is not an option.

“I hope you don’t mind, but I ordered you a lemon-drop martini. I figured we could start over.”

“Start over?”

He reached for her hand. “I hope to be with you long past tonight, and the story you tell your friends should be a bit more romantic than picking each other up in an airport lounge.”

Her heart skipped a beat. “That’s really thoughtful.”

“And a little selfish, I’m afraid. I’m sure you have guy friends, and I don’t want them picturing you doing naughty things with me in the men’s bathroom.”

She laughed. “I’d never tell anyone that.”

He arched a brow. “I have a feeling Brianna knows.”

She nibbled on her lower lip, and he used his free hand to draw her closer by the nape of her neck.

“That’s okay, darlin’. I was kidding. I just want you to have a story you’re proud to tell, not one that makes you wonder if you made a mistake.”

“Thank you.” She leaned forward and pressed her lips to his.

He deepened the kiss, sliding his knee between her legs and moving closer. The press of his lips sent a rush of heat through her. She’d been dying to kiss him all evening, and now, with the crashing of the waterfall just beyond the glass and shadows dancing in their private candlelit room, she took her fill. His tongue swept over every dip of her mouth, over her teeth, and then he pulled back and slicked it over her lower lip, leaving her breathing hard and moving hungrily in for more. She wound her arms around his neck, and their mouths came together hard and fast. His hands slid to her hips, holding her there, burning right through her clothing. She wanted to move from her chair to straddle his lap and let their bodies decide where to go next, but the sound of footsteps brought her mind back to reality, and she moved away with a whimper of loss.

His hand slid from her hip, down her forearm, and his fingers laced with hers, as if he, too, couldn’t stand losing the connection.

My Review

First I have to say, I loved the CRAP out of this book! How have I not had Melissa Foster’s books on my TBR before? I was 10% in to this novella, set my Kindle down and headed for my computer to see what other books I needed to download to get my Melissa Foster fix. I was happily surprised to find that I have her extensive back list to catch up on.

Even though Daring Her Love is smack dab in the middle of The Bradens series, I didn’t for one second feel like I was missing a part of the story or that I was lost being thrown into this rich and lush world. This series is a sweeping family saga full of people who love each other dearly. I really love her writing style.

Eric James is intense, sexy, cocky, smooth, confident, and self-assured. Kat knows what she wants and isn’t willing to compromise herself to get what she wants out of life and a relationship. She knows that she deserves more than a quick one night stand. The minute that their eyes meet across the room, sparks fly. And let me tell you, the chemistry was sizzling off the charts HOT! No insta-love anywhere to be found. It was a true and real attraction that you could tell was more than purely physical.

Even though this story was novella length, it was not a story that was rushed. The reader is able to see every single step of the way how how Eric and Kat fall for each other and why they have such a strong pull towards each other. Usually in novellas you feel like you don’t get enough of the couple’s story, but in this one I felt fully satisfied. The balance between the super steamy, yummy, dirty talking times and the sweet romantic times was pure perfection. I’m adding Melissa Foster to my auto buy list and starting at the beginning of her books as soon as I possibly can.
